Glen Robert Burkholder

Glen Robert Burkholder, age 92, of Stryker, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Parkview Bryan Hospital. Glen worked hard from a young age, farming, tending to his flock of sheep, and driving semi to support his family.

Glen was born in Henry County, Ohio on August 2, 1931, the son of Harold and Alvera (Lindau) Burkholder. On April 18, 1959 he married Rose Marie Clark, and she preceded him in death in 2016. He was a member of the Fist Baptist Church in Stryker. He enjoyed hunting, his '55 Chevy Bel Air Convertible, and THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Generally a quiet man, he had a knack for telling stories and a rare belly laugh that you couldn't help but join in. Over the years he donated six gallons of blood to the Red Cross in honor of his father-in-law, Clifford, and wife, Rose. Glen could often be found with a toothpick in his mouth, Certs in his pocket and studying the local farming conditions or grain markets.

Surviving are his children, Joyce (Mark) Miller of Archbold, OH, Karen (Chris) Norris of Marion, IN, and Laura (Tom) Rowlands of Lexington, KY. He is also survived by grandchildren, Michael (Amber) Miller, James (Lindsey) Norris, Andrew (Julia) Norris, Kathrine (Jacob) Hindall, Jenna (Henry) Kennedy, Ariel Miller, Jonathan Rowlands, Juliana Rowlands; great-grandchildren, Morgan Lulfs, Zoe Lulfs, Braden Norris, Abigail Norris, Hayden Hindall, Owen Norris, Simon Kennedy, Wyatt Hindall and Adam Norris; sister, Norma Roth, and sisters-in-law, Joan Ruffer and Donna Burkholder.

Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, both parents, granddaughters, Susan Marie Miller and Clara Rose Rowlands; brothers, Harley and Ralph Burkholder; and brothers-in-law Richard Ruffer, Veryl Roth and Kenneth Clark.

Visitation for Glen will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Stryker. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Sean Ingram, officiating Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Stryker, Ohio.
